Who invited Viv to this discussion? He is below Headley, and arguably Holding.

Anyway, Ambrose.

But...Worrell has to be very high on the podium of WI greats, he's an ATG Cricketer anyway in my opinion but his influence transcends what can be done on the Cricket field.

Just the one vote for Ambrose is a but surprising, and he wouldn't have received even that a couple of weeks back.

I know I am in the minority, but Viv is better than Marshall as a cricketer.

And Lara is a touch ahead of Ambrose.

Genius bats before pacemen.
Yes you're in the minority. Viv may have had more impact and bla bla bla but pure cricketing skills it's Malcolm.

Eesh. I know I’m in the minority, but the best pace bowlers get the heart going in a way that even the best batsmen can only dream of. That said, Viv, Lara and Aravinda have long been the batsmen I’d be happiest to watch.

Still, Marshall and Ambrose ahead of them for me. I didn’t name my pets after ‘em for nothing. (Though another was named Lara ftr)

Nope. I mean, the maroon-bellied conures suited West Indian names more.

But I'm still not sure that there's a Kiwi I'd place ahead of some of the other players I named in terms of cricketing cool. Cult heroes, yes but not so much of the swashbuckling mercuriality.
Richie Richardson and Keith Arthurton were perhaps the coolest cricketers of all time.
Miles better than any modern day players in that regard
