You don't have to feed it and behave like them as well. No one's forcing you to post like this.
At the very least, our discussions were regarding a Cricket series on Cricket Web, after I was on topic discussing the batters mentioned in the list for 8-9 pages, 4 out of 4 posts from your end have been off topic not only to the topic but the site entirely, what even is your defense?

My defense? I just commented and responded for a bit here.

Since it bothers you so much to see me off-topic:

I thought the list was fine overall, don't get where the complaints about some of the older batters missing out come from tbh. A bit surprised with where Root ended up, but definitely looking to get the book myself to read up on it.

The top 9 is by any measure good, the order is not only crazy, but illustrates when cricket is observed through a spread sheet and devoid of context.
I don't think you have much room to complain here lol about being devoid of context. If anything that's just your base point, so I'm surprised this annoys you that much.

My view is that Bradman is 1, Hobbs is 2, 3 is where Sachin/Viv/Hutton/Sobers/Smith all can fight it out
This I can go with.

Sachin has longevity
Viv peak and dominance vs the greatest pacers of his day
Hutton defeated the 50's
Sobers revolutionized batting, helped save the game
Smith monster series vs great attacks.

Would add Lara, unmatched genius

Just curious. How did Sobers revolutionise batting and save the game?

Personally, would credit Lillian Thompson for starting the era of short pitched frightening pace, the mid 70s Ashes where they combined was the most brutal since arguably 1953, and perhaps Larwood's 1933 Bodyline. Imran became a pacer because of Lillee and West Indies made their pace quaret directly as a retalliation to Lillian Thompson. Would give the batting credit to IVA Richards, changed batting in the big three.

Dennis Lillee & Jeff Thomson battered WI so badly that Clive Lloyd was forced to adopt the four pace attack.

Lillee and Thomson's short pitched pace was so lethal that England ran out of players, had to summon a 43-Year-Old, retired for years, Michael Colin Cowdrey from the depths of an English winter, to battle Lillian Thomson on the fastest wicket in Australia.

Still have not read a post in this thread btw but just posting here to say, why is the book already out in the UK and not getting released in Aus til Aug 26th?! Way to show you’re still an Aussie Kimber. Hopefully my sister(s) will still be ok with ordering it for me for my June 8th bday.

Upon completion I plan to annoy everyone by replying to all these posts.

Lillee has the greatest legacy of any pacer with the possible exception of Imran.
