The Best and Worst of 2005

I think its related to, as an English fan, the Ashes in 2006/07. Hayden would obviously be more likely to succeed now against England compared to him in last year's Ashes.

My question is, was he being sarcastic about Watson?

you've nailed the first one, but do you honestly think that Shane Watson averaging 61.5 with the ball with 2 wickets has proved to anyone that hes test class?

No, hence why I was assuming you were being sarcastic with this comment:

Best:
Shane Watson proving that he is a test class bowler.
I'm guessing it was just an error on your part to put "is a test class bowler" rather than 'isnt'

actually i was being sarcastic......not unusual for me to do so either.

Then there was no need to give me a talk with figures about why Watson isn't a test class bowler. I knew that, but I was just ensuring you were being sarcastic. ;)

Worst of the year 2005

Top 10

<snip>
The Australian selectors - Known to make very good decisions like playing Gilchrist instead of Healy in the past, the recent form has been pathetic. Dropping Bevan, Lehmann were just the trailers. This year has seen the inexplicable dumping of Martyn, non inclusion of Hussey for the Ashes despite being one of the few people in form and not trying MacGill even though the back up pace attack was proving to be impotent among many others.
<snip>
Don't think Bevan has played for Australia for several seasons, especially in the Test arena.

Anyway,

Best

1. The Ashes contest - best series of cricket I've seen;
2. Warne's unbelievable season;
3. Lara cracking AB's record;

Worst

1. The entire Zimbabwe situation;
2. The feebleness of the West Indies in Australia;
3. The ICC Australia v ROW series

Tomm NCCC

International 12th Man
The Best

1. Well what else could it be? The Ashes. Pulsating stuff all the way through
2. Notts Winning thje county championship
3. The discovery of Plunkett...

Worst

1. Losing in Pakistan was a bit bad, expectations were high but we failed to deleiver
2. The Jonnie Walker series was a bit rubbish, wasnt it?
3. the 'discovery' of Udal...

I can still see it getting worse. It's a lost cause, but now more than ever it's the players who I feel for. They're in a lose/lose situation
