Stumped!

So the secret to stumped is be as aggressive as possible... I have also noted that the only way to get the most out of an out of touch player is just push aggression to max. I am going to call this the Roelof van der Merwe strategy from now on...

Oh and #BQdoesNotMatter...
Interesting opinion - I never know what to do when a players slumps to 6 touch but he is a youth who is needed for my DEV team and to get IGT to continue his journey- i cannot afford in terms og his journey to have him sit out matches and IGT but he gets out for single figure scores after diddling around at a strike rate of 30-40 - so probably better to go with your philosophy and have him bowled out for a quack off 1 ball! although in terms of cricket reality that would mean he would never get out of his rut , lose his slot and then be sent away to the 2nd X1 or incessant netting and coaching away from the field and lose his slot.... clearly this scenario cannot play out in Stumped so i fear i will just have to wait for an end of season re set

Does anyone track their touch ? does it really go up and down after they play well or badly in a match (in terms of their actual stats) or does it have no correlation to performance? [hope it does]!

I had some good feedback from Ataraxia today reassuring me on my wristie - I'm not saying he is slow but after release of his delivery the rest of the team go to the boundary grab a drink and are back in position before the balls arrives at the other end and the batter plays his stroke.

His fastest ball during his career with us is 42mph (the same in) all forms of the game! Intriguingly he once whizzed a ball down for a previous team at 49 mph so that is quite a drop off. Saying that it does not seem to impede his performance, he takes wickets, and his SR and RPO are all reasonable

I wonder what the slowest ball bowled in Stumped can possibly be?

And moving away from that and into the generality of bowling speed....

What is the purpose of training bowling speed?
What is the benefit?
Does it only make any sense for a particular type of bowler?
If you train bowling speed, then does a player flip from one type of bowler to another when he hits a certain number?
Does bowling speed like all other things in training increase faster if you are younger?
But also, how can you tell how far away from potential they are as there is no 'ACT/POT' numbers for an individual for this category?
Can you only tell in terms of how many stars the guy has for bowling speed?
Finally, I note that even quite senior aged bowlers can have 3 stars still for bowling speed - whilst their stars for bowling attributes dropped to 1 years ago while they were still a youth.

Thanks for your thoughts, opinions and feedback!

Yes I`ve tracked it consistently because I have two erratic players...Touch is just an effect within Stumped system, not effected by runs scored (as far as I`m aware)... what is tends to cause is slower run scoring when in a touch of (7-9), when you get below 7 you seem to actually not only not score runs quickly but it really effects the batsmen's likelihood of getting out. So to counter this I`ve found that just putting stupid high aggression can get these players to give you something. High touch players seem to score quicker more than anything else. Don't think it really affects the chance of getting out or not, more the chance of the ball going for runs.I`ve also noted that touch seems to affect batting and not bowling though (could be wrong...)

Holy **** ZCC won a Dev Game

Taufeeq Bashir signing off with 96 from 82 as we chase down 224. This comes after bowling 8 overs for 8.8 BQ. Alpha as ****.

Re: Bowling Speed

I've often wondered the same. Apparently L&L training adds speed for spinners and Movement training reduces it. I think quicker spinners are like quicker seam bowlers - more economical, and if they can move it, can be quite deadly in the right conditions.

Not sure what happens if you put Pace training on a spinner. Try it and let us know the results

All that you say Stephen seems to go with my 'gut feeling' ( can only be that because i have not observed in enough detail , only just noticed certain players at 6 or 18) to ring true

I fear JJ is going to do a double promotion today helped both times by CWC teams . Not that any skullduggery is going on just that everyone is fighting tooth and nail for something! It's only that I will get scratched in the process ! :wallbash:

IF FHK get past us then Moo is again the kingmaker of fortunes...

Well done to the thrivers - Winton and the survivors - FHK - turning my team over was a good effort, to get you out of that hole. Looking at the Geese and Winton RR you see how close it was... great stuff!

International Coach
Liam Kotze graduated out of Dev today. Seen him (almost) throughout his career. Great servant of the club - first XI bowler come Dev specialist come quick mamba hitter. His last match is tomorrow morning against Jura - alongside Frans Potgieter, the low-BQ (but 38 skill) offie returning to the club for one last game after 10 months away. He's on 297 club wickets - can he hack out three more on a horrible pitch for him?!

Levy H4X another ton in the CWC6 against Jura... allowing for a fine if unconvincing win. Newly acquired wrist spinner Lorkin appears to have started off promisingly for the TMOs.

My take is TMO went off the boil but now simmering again, Jura seem to be going off the boil , Winton are steady but a surpise defeat and Geese might now be my best chance at a title.

Top 4 decided : the order of 2,3 and 4 still in the balance

The Transfer Market is so unpredictable. Richard Ramsey 34 rated with bat, can keep and has played some very good innings for us at Charminster with 17 hours of bidding left is going at 2k.

Meanwhile, seamer Nasir we spent 75k on him thought hope we can make back what we spent on him and he's now at 1mil with 17 hours of bidding left! 40 rated seamer but still
