Why would you have Windies above England, eh??

They were thrashed by Bang, last time around.

Also, reading your post makes me feel 'England are T20 minnows'...What The______???
Because we've played them in 4 twenty20's and lost 3, including getting creamed in the last 2.

I wouldn't say we are minnows, we are in the third tier of Twenty20 at the moment with Bangladesh and West Indies. FTR I would group India, SA, Aus and NZ, SL, Pak as the two other tiers. Pakistans place is maybe debatable on their current form but their record in twenty20 is very good

again i would say, you can't rank any team without seeing teams playing much of matches
none knows, maybe England wins this time & become Number 1
or maybe westindies end up winning the tournament
anyone can win it, except Pakistan lol :D

It just occurred to me, isn't this system self perpetuating? I mean at least one of India, South Africa and Australia won't make the semis so we'll have the same problem next time?

if ICC doesn't introduce T20 rankings, i'm afraid it'll happen next time also
it's unfair, but you can expect this from ICC

So one of the Super8 groups might end up being:
Ireland (through), Neth (have to not lose by NRR of 1.25), SL/WI (open), NZ. (through)

Other one is:
India(through), England(through), Aus/WI (open), SA (through).
