As far as I know, please desist from including Chanderpaul in your player comparisons. He’s transcendental and doesn’t need to be compared with mortal men.

He’s one of my country’s greatest sons. He made youngsters wanting to take up the game.

Of those who took up his style of marking the guard,

The only real arguments in Amla's favour is that he batted a tougher position and played for a better team. Amla really was only particularly good for about 6-7 years. Chanderpaul was relevant for the best part of 20, and I think their peaks were similar in brilliance.

Weird comparison though.

Batting 3 in SA is hard. I wouldn't take De Villiers over Shiv.
