It was not meant to be serious but it's a bit frustrating to see someone with an average of like 20 in ICC events captaining the team.
He's fine for tests. He's not good enough for white ball cricket.

These things are a joke . Ultimately it will be decided by commentators panel after final performance. It is between Kohli/Ravindra/Axar at this point with Kane having an outside chance

have you seen his test batting? since 2021 he has 1,690 @ 49.7 in 40 innings which is very impressive given current South African pitches, in ODI he averages 48.3 while opening and is the accumulator of the lineup, bit suspect under immense preassure but he's a very good Batsmen

I remember Starc getting him out in the first over in WC SF . Guy is a bottler in ICC ODI tournaments and doesn’t deserve the captaincy . Stop mixing the formats

It is silly. Santner still has overs, there's no one to come after this, and Mitchell can probably go at under 12. No need to bowl Phillips as well if he's bunged up.

ICC events is vague , he's played one ODI tournament prior which he didn't play well , in this tournament he had 2 innings and scored 2 50's he's not the issue here , in fact the spotlight should be more on how NZ played today , they have been by far the better team , Santner , Ravindra, Williamson they should be praised .
