Anyone else spot the irony here? An Indian having a go at Pakistan's lack of good pacemen!
So a fan of a team that lacks high quality players in one area cannot critique another country's lack of high quality players in that same area?

Well then, Marc from England, let's not have you critique another country about anything!

Pathan & Khan have met greater success than the mentioned lot , they also happen to have more potential.

naveed, asif and khalil seems to be very mediocre players , they haven't played much and won't get much chances in future simply coz they don't have the potential to become fontline pacers for Pakistan.
dude trust me ,
2 yrs formm now it'll be Khan who ?
BTw... irfan is no better than sami .............

In spite of the fact that England have regularly had good players in all areas, then?
The irony is because it's very obviously one saying "we're better than you" because purely of local rivalry - of course it wouldn't be simply if it was one criticising another country for something theirs didn't possess.

No, they don't if you ask me - but they could perfectly possibly prove the both of us wrong.

lets agree to disagee.

mark my words though, they won't be able to prove anyone of us wrong coz they won't get chances in future atall.

and may i also say the pacers pakistan produced before were geunine pace bowlers, the ones you have mentioned are merely medium pace. and i disagree that they havent produced any, Gul is only 20 years of age...he has quite some potential and shabbir ahmed is a decent bowler as is sami. sami has been under-performing for quite a while although he has been quite unlucky throughout his career. for comparisons sake and for ure sake, sami and gul would walk into the indian pace attack.
Sami and Gul wouldn't go near the pace attack of any country, let alone India. Gul can't bowl more than 4 or 5 overs without breaking a bone in his back, and Sami is pure garbage. Akhtar, on the other hand, I would take in a second.

Maybe not - but they will hopefully not be needed once Shabbir returns and Saqlain attains fitness.

Some would argue that India have nothing any better than Gul and Sami.

Very ironic.
Well, if Marc can't criticize anybody else, you, sir, hailing from that cricket powerhouse known as the West Indies, should have your mouth taped shut.

In spite of the fact West Indies have a ODI side capable of challenging anyone at present?

Saqlain has been ovelooked even when he was fit by selectors, i don't thin he has much cricket left.

And even if Shabbir doesn't get fit, i think someone else will take the places of khalils and co. I don't think Pak will give more chances to those fellows

SAmi and Shoiab - the only gennuinely fastest bowling pair in international cricket ...
Nonetheless - there's a massive gap in class, no denying that.
Anyone who really thinks Sami is even close to Test-class is delusional.

He's only 28!
He's got a stack of cricket left - hopefully plenty of it at the ODI level.

Sami is fast but is rubbish. Such a bowler wouldn't even get selected in India's second eleven.

sami n irfan so far have the same amount of success in international cricket..
Sami On the other hand does show the potential to become a good fast bowler!!

First, the state of one-day cricket is such that pretty much any team other than Australia and perhaps now New Zealand (and of course outside of Zimbabwe, Bangladesh, Kenya et al.) have a 50-50 chance at beating their opponent. Teams like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, England, and the West Indies are pretty much equivalent.

That being said, the West Indies are clearly, clearly the worst out of the six. Oh, but they won the Champions Trophy? Yeah, in the luckiest victory I've ever seen. That match should have been stopped for bad light hours before it ended.

But oh well, if you want to continue to foolishly claim that the West Indies are any good, go ahead. But just know that you're wrong to do so. They're a very, very bad team.
