Why didn’t he?Kalis could have easily broken the 51 test Centuries record, as he already scored 15 centuries in last 60 innings before retirement.

Not a chance.Kalis could have easily broken the 51 test Centuries record, as he already scored 15 centuries in last 60 innings before retirement.
yet someone was crying that he retired too earlyNot a chance.
In his last year (2013), he averaged 25!
What record was Tendulkar chasing after he got his 100th 100 in Match 2012? Why did he play on for another 20 months? Makes no logical sense to think that he was still chasing a record.. when there was no record to chase. He held all records. Playing on meant his average would fall more and more. Lower conversion rates.. Lower overseas averages. Basically everything to do with his test career would look worse.you said he was bad in his last year.. so if he retires, someone worthy of a spot gets picked and offers more to winning. That's the most unselfish decision he could make.
Sachin could have retired at the right time but he was chasing records.
The cope is real. What record was Tendulkar chasing after he got his 100th 100 in Match 2012? Why did he play on for another 20 months? Here's the truth for those who are unware who wrongly believe that he played on just to complete a bogus BS milestone of 200 tests!
He believed he was still good enough to play in the next ODI World Cup in 2015. He wanted to help defend the world title. But Dhoni wanted a young team. He got rid of all the stars of 2011 WC. Likewise, Tendulkar was also given a nudge from ODIs eventually in 2013. He then realised that had to retire and planned to do it in the next series. The next series happened to be some months away- the 2 test series vs West Indies in Nov 2013.
If he had been informed sooner that he would not be part of their ODI WC plans too, he would have called time on his career almost a year earlier. He kept thinking and believing he was still well in contention of playing the World Cup in early 2015. (Similar to Kallis who played ODIs till July 2014, though retired from tests in 2013).
No it's from people who were close to him who have shared his side. Guy starts playing tests at 16, ofcourse he is going to believe he can play on into his 40s. Playing's all he had done. Someone had to nudge him on. They just didn't have the courage to nudge him sooner. If they did, ofcourse he'd been out sooner. It's not rocket science. The cope is real.
