Sachin figures vs murali got hurt by 05 series(when he was at his lowest point in his career) and 08 ( sachin got out to mendis not Murali) otherwise pretty good
By that logic, they're also saved massively by the 2009 Series which was played on absurdly high scoring wickets with a 50+ run-per-wicket and Murali was on his last legs and would retire the very next series. The times Sachin clashed with the Murali that wasn't medicore, it did not go his way, 33 shows that. Murali himself said this about Sachin and his feud

It's an odd one since he didn't seem especially uncomfy against Murali but didn't really dominate him except the 90s

He had his struggles vs saqlain but post 2000 s sachin became coward vs spinners and ultra selfish that he just looked to survive rather then attack whereas in 90s he had this ego to dominate bowlers that he got himself out so man times

In 90s sachin was very agressive unselfish batsmen who had arrogance about him but in 00s became selfish **** who cared more about milestones then anything

@Johan My fav tendulkar story is that during bridgetown test match in 1997 where by end of day 3 india were set target of 120 to win. Sachin was so confident that when a waiter said ambrose would bounce him out sachin replied he would hook ambrose all the way to Antigua. That was the arrogance he had in 90s. Incidently he lost his wicket trying to smash bishop (off no ball which was not given)

tho, he is more successful against ATG bowlers he faced than the other two, he is more consistent than Smith but has one less ATG away tour, I don't think Smith's output would be anywhere near Sobers by the time Smith retires. Sachin respectfully is just longevity, which I put under Greatness as a Cricketer and not batting quality once you meet a threshold.
what are you smoking

Sachin was by a large margin the best batter for over a decade where Brian Lara was around

sobers never played against an ATG bowler

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Sobers' first series vs Australia in 1956 when he was 18, was vs Lindwall, Miller, Bill Johnston, Benaud and Ian Johnson. He averaged 39 in that series btw, not great, but commendable for a teenager seeing as CW seem to rate teenagers highly that perform well in a test series. Then the series vs England in 57 it was Trueman, Statham, Lock and Laker. Oh you want great series vs great pace: 1960 at home vs Trueman and Statham.

Sachin averages in the 30s against majority of the great bowlers including a matured Murali, bashed Warne/Steyn and that deserves respect, but Sobers and Viv (ew) are clearly less patchy.

As for this thread both sir gary and sachin are retired. We can discuss about them but smith is still playing. We are unsure how he will end up either he is gonna have atg series vs bumrah in 27 or rabada in 26 or will decline bad is unknown. Plz let us keep him out till he retires
