Both these guys have really good actions. Umran especially is very strong through the crease. Hope someone experienced takes them under their wing; wouldn't hurt for them to be at least around someone like Bumrah.

Does he have any FC experience?I think this is a joke and lot can happen in next 9 months . But this thread should keep an eye on him . He can be next Shamar Joseph ( Or Harris Rauf)

Tbf with Umran there were plenty of people including me that were skeptical because his radar was visibly wayward.
Mayank looks quite accurate, definitely more exciting prospect imo.
Obviously a potential test call up is wayyy too premature but don’t mind him in a few hit and giggle bilateral LOs if he gets through this IPL season ok. Our pipeline there is quite concerning.
Our selectors don’t really fast track anyone for Tests these days which is good. The days of Varun Aaron and Karn Sharma are hopefully behind us.

tbf yeah, our white ball pace lineup sucks after the usuals. like Bumrah it would be wise if he gains international experience there for a year or 2 before getting his test intro

Mayank is with Delhi and they’re a ****show organisation wise but at least he has Ishant Sharma there for guidance
Umran with Jammu and Kashmir is the real worry and it may be why he hasnt progressed much

Mayank's action will at least direct the ball straight when he's not in rhythm, the same can't be said for Umran's, which is rather slingier. Looks a little less likely to snap in half too IMO, but you can't rule out back injuries to anyone of that pace

For every Bumrah (actually he’s pretty much the only anomaly) there are tons of negative examples.
Bumrah also had more than 1 FC game and had a decent body of LO work.

Bumrah made his test debut at 25 years old..
This Mayank Yadav fellow is 21 with 1 FC game , atleast let him play a full FC season before throwing him in deep end.

I'd like to see him at the T20 WC tbh and not just as backup. That sort of pace can break games open like nothing else.

Neither Lee nor Shoaib peaked right at the start of their careers, despite breakdowns.
Bumrah actually played FC cricket and was scouted from there initially. Not the same as what is being proposed here.

If sheer pace would guarentee a series win at Australia, then a 120 kmph Natarajan and 125 kmph Shardul Thakkur wouldnt have had any impact there. How much more quicker will trouble batsmen? Even if he bowls 135 kmph, still batsmen are not going to be troubled however Venkatesh Prasad had his men with leg cutters at 125 kmph. Sean Tait was tearaway but gave it in a slot. Line and length matters. Do you know Zaheer Khan's 130s kmph with swing was more lethal than his occassional 140 kmph?
