Idk if Holding is a better cricketer but I'd pick him in my team before I picked Ashwin. The only reason not to pick Holding in an atg XI is probably number of tests/wickets. He loses out to no fast bowler when it comes to wicket taking ability and especially so on flat dead wickets.

He is mentioning the clear similarity of them being reliant on home venues. So Ashwin being the Williamson of bowling is a reasonable take. Ashwin's batting clearly clears him of Williamson as an overall cricketer imo.

Hope Ash can change his luck in SENA in the AUS series (no jinx).

as overall players maybe but in primary discipline both Ashwin and Williamson are monsters at home and mediocre away so it's pretty consistent, if Williamson had an Ashwin level secondary discipline as an overall player he might be Dravid tier too.

Dravid sucked against quality bounce but he was so good against swing I'd take him over Ashwin btw
