Not as high as I'd like. I think he's up there with Warne. A better performer than him at home, by a fair margin. So, around top 10-15 bowlers all time for mine.

Still going Dravid though. Massively underrated bat. Tendulkar + Dravid made for a titanic middle order for India.

Dravid is absolutely an ATG in every definition of the world

Players who are as condition dependent as Ashwin should be instantly disregarded as ATG material.
I would take Lyon any day of the week in SENA over Ashwin.

Unless it's a proper raging turner, Lyon tends to need bounce. Isn't great on slow low turners. Had a recent failure in Sri Lanka where I don't think Ashwin would ever miss out. Sydney is traditionally the spinning ground in Australia. But Lyon has a bad record there because of the lack of bounce.

ATGs are ATG XI material, or at least worthy to consider for it. Dravid isn't that.

Lyon has won games in England and NZ, and has been less hopeless than Ashwin in SA, plus an entire career in Australia which is supposed to be death for off spinners. Easily better than Ashwin in SENA.

Yeah I'd still take Lyon over Ashwin outside Asia, but think the gap in Asia is bigger.
