His 2000-2005 numbers were pretty much the exact same as 1995-1999. Became an incredibly dominant outlier.Though the bowling numbers may not exactly play it out, McGrath’s peak was definitely in the 00’s. Rising averages in batting and bowling everywhere and he just basically maintained the same level. Was crazy.
How unlike you...Though the bowling numbers may not exactly play it out
Adam Gilchrist next imoamong Australian Cricketers
1. Donald Bradman
2. Glenn McGrath
3. Shane Warne
4. Steven Smith/Keith Miller
5. Rest
Where would you put their peak in respective discipline in the history?McGrath sustained peak levels for longer and bowlers have a bit more say on test match results than batsmen. Both were superbly dominant and did it everywhere.
What was better though, Smith’s 3/18 at Lords or McGrath’s 39 at Port of Spain?Smith's the better bat. McGrath the better bowler
What’s full maturityPeak = phase of career of highest performance
Prime = duration of career when player has achieved full maturity till decline
There usually is an early career phase when they are finding their feet. After that. What’s full maturity
Then SmithPeak = phase of career of highest performance
Peak and prime are meant to be the same thing, don't think pulling out random definitions out of thin air is very useful.Peak = phase of career of highest performance
Prime = duration of career when player has achieved full maturity till decline
Their usage in cricket terms has mostly been different from what I have seen..Peak and prime are meant to be the same thing, don't think pulling out random definitions out of thin air is very useful.
