Burns 1 - very close to earning a pair which says a lot.
Hameed 4 - two starts but failed to convert either of them. Did look more convincing than at least two other openers, though.
Malan 7 - very Malan in Australia sort of Test; failure in the first dig, scratchy but solid 50 second dig.
Root 7 - should've had a ton, really. Was a superb innings until he got out. Unfortunately that dismissal came at a crucial time for England.
Stokes 2 - poor all-round. Two failures and looked miles short of full fitness with the ball. What was with all those no-balls?
Pope 3 - what on earth was that shot second dig?
Buttler 5 - ehh.....two decent starts that he failed to convert and was solid with the gloves. Nothing to really shout about but far from disasterous.
Woakes 5 - was fine, I guess. Still don't think much of him away from England though.
Robinson 8 - England's best bowler. Proved that he's far more than a county trundler.
Wood 8 - a bit too short, but was genuinely hostile and gave Australia genuine headaches.
Leach 1 - oh dear. I'm honestly not sure he bowled that badly, but was attacked in the worst way possible. I really hope this isn't the end for him.

Warner 7 - OK, there was significant luck involved. But still, you need to capitalise on luck and he did. You'd take 94 any day of the week.
Harris 1 - shouldn't have been picked. Didn't look up to it.
Labuschagne 7 - see Root, though obviously his dismissal meant much less than Root's did.
Smith 2 - this was a very "Smith comes in where Australia were well ahead" kind of innings. Very unfocused. Hopefully it's just a one-off.
Head 10 - what an innings. Came in when Australia were in a bit of trouble, instead just belted a run a ball 150. Some of the shots he played were absolutely exquisite. Vindicated those who rated him significantly.
Green 5 - nothing needs to be said about his batting, but bowled really, really well. That should be the standard Australia expect from him long-term with the ball.
Carey 5 - nothing to write home about with the bat, solid with the gloves.
Cummins 9 - he's rather good, isn't he?
Starc 6 - good first innings, crap second. Important cameo with the bat to put the game beyond realistic doubt too.
Lyon 7 - a little bit limp when chasing the 400, but roared to life on Day 4 and really was a significant reason why Australia were able to ice the game so easily after a very good Day 3 for England.
Hazlewood 7 - great spell first up. Quieter afterwards but still bowled well though Buttler was able to attack him comfortable.

Can't disagree with any of the points raised so far. Though perhaps Cummins was a bit short changed. He was sublime.

Burns 3 - decent start second innings, I guess.
Hameed 1 - nothing of significance after an OK first Test. Doesn't seem up to it.
Malan 7 - probably not his most convincing knock but a good 80-odd should've set up a good first innings total for England.
Root 6 - poor fella. Good innings first up but does feel like he can be worked over, especially by some of the taller quicks.
Stokes 5 - tried hard, but does still look a bit ginger (pun largely unintended), especially when bowling.
Pope 0 - yikes
Buttler 6 - bizarre Test. Lots of ugly drops (especially against Labuschagne), but a few genuine screamers too. Failed first dig but dug in hard second innings to at least make Australia work much harder for victory than they would've hoped. Cruel way to go out.
Woakes 4 - batted better than at least half of England's specialist bats. But he's in the side to bowl, and he did not bowl well at all.
Robinson 5 - was fine I guess. Best bit was when he bowled offies and actually didn't look complete junk doing so.
Broad 4 - good with the new ball, not really much to write home about otherwise.
Anderson 5 - was economical but like most of the English quicks, bowled too short first dig. Wickets definitely had the tinge of the downhill ski.

Harris 3 - at least survived Night 3, where an early dismissal could've made things interesting. But still not good enough for Test cricket.
Warner 7 - well batted first dig. Deserved a ton.
Labuschagne 8 - not his most fluent knock but you can't argue with a ton, and also made a 50 second innings for good measure.
Smith 7 - see Warner
Head 6 - down Test but the 50 was a good innings and came at a time where failure might've got England on a roll where a miracle was at least remotely plausible.
Green 6 - like the first Test, looked uncomfortable with the bat but bowled really well. At least got a bit of a start second dig.
Carey 6 - good innings first up. Generally kept well but one significant blemish proved costly (not going for an easy catch off Buttler)
Starc 8 - struggled a bit late but otherwise this was his best Test with the ball for a while. Useful slog first dig too.
Neser 6 - pretty solid. Bowled tight. Did look less penetrative than the other Aussie bowlers but a good back-up to have.
Richardson 8 - well bowled second dig. Did lose momentum first innings but also had a terrific opening spell on Night 2.
Lyon 8 - like Starc, his best Test in a while. Being harsh, was stonewalled relatively well second innings but still picked up important wickets and generally bowled rather well.

Starc did well but loses a point for dropping off Green and Jhye. 7 (I’m counting the one on the boundary as a normal fielder would get that done)

Pfft. Root's captaincy should see that reduced significantly. The team is Anderson +10 others. Some of these chumps need to do a Swann and retire mid-series.

Whatever it takes!!!
YOu can see why Root's captaincy is a shambles when he gave that interview and the very next day Broad and Anderson wrote in their newspaper columns about ERs and "not getting feedback" etc. They maybe their best bowlers in a generation but that attitude and divaness could not have had a good effect on the side In fact, you can directly correlate the England side's decline from KP went out. The success of the LO side where these two don't play a part also kinda shows up these issues.

The duck record is for a calendar year I believe. Unless they also bring the 4th test forward and start it tomorrow that ones done and dusted.

they equalled it, didn't they...that's not a trivial feat...and there is always next year and room to improve...
