Paid's Cricket Game

I'm currently making a cricket simulator in Excel to help me with my Visual Basic assignments.

I'll try and keep you posted...

Hopefully I'll have some screen shots up tonight or by Friday at the latest.

This is a screenshot from the game...

The buttons are ugly so I'll be changing them.

The game is a simulator just like VirtualCricket but instead of viewing a completed game you get to see each ball recorded in the scorecard.

Umm, I know that David has seen the game and although there are a few bugs, I'll put out Version 1 soon HOPEFULLY!

Hey mate

Not sure if you have already, but I suggest maybe download the following game from Cricket Web

Excel Cricket

It's excatly what you are doing and you might be able to pick parts up that you could add etc, and maybe seek a quick look at the coding (All done in Macro's I blieve). The game seems quite relistic in the scores it produces, when I played it to get the screenshot for the Download center and at school after they blocked nearly the entire websites.

Might be worth a look?

No readme, but to start a game you need to go into the Tools menu on the main Excel menu bar

Thanks Rich,

I know about Excel Cricket and have just started to try and speed up my game using the code from Excel Cricket.

The major difference is this: Excel cricket actually let you choose the bowler, mine will be a purely simulated game. Like VC4 except you can see the scorecard changing, after each ball.

Cloete,

Thanks for that :)
I only have the button that big so I can use it further down the screen, as the raw data is below.

It doesn't have bowler management though, so it probably wouldn't be the type of program for those sims.

Sorry but there has been a delay (as usual!) and i'll only give the desperate Mr M a copy so far.

Email is out later today hopefully.

Even if you cant chose the bowler, it would be good to see the possibility of us simming the CW games on....
We'll see how it goes. I don't see anything wrong with the program we're using now.

I'd been meaning to post for a while now. Good job Paid! Looks the makings of a really good game.
