On Strike question

Sorry for this newbie question. Just got started watching cricket. I've been watching IPL for the last couple weeks. I know that after every over, a new bowler comes in and that a bowler can't bowl two consecutive overs. Is there a similar rule regarding who is on strike at the start of the over? If one batsmen starts on strike in an over, does the other batsman start on strike in the next over?

Each over is bowled from a different end of the pitch, and while the fielding side move, the batters do not move.

So if Batter A hits a dot ball (or any even number of runs), then Batter B is on strike at the start of the next over. However, if Batter A hits 1 run (or any odd number of runs) then Batter A is still on strike at the start of the next over. Hope that makes sense.

Definitely makes sense. Thank you.
