At just 18 he was picked to play for Australia A vs Sri Lanka A and performed really well , won the U19 WC with Australia. How far could he go in his career ?

You say "just", but he's a few days shy of 19 at this point, and has only played 6 professional matches in his career, according to his cricinfo page.

Wouldn't exciting young sportsmen be getting their foot in and playing a decent volume of matches at the ages of 17 and 18? Genuinely a bit curious/perplexed.

Edit: Actually maybe I'm just dumb, the state sides are super competitive and probably have A, B / youth sides of their own right so I'm sure he's played a bunch there before getting this chance, but still it makes you wonder what the prodigy athletes are doing bumming around at those levels. :p

Too early to call. He does seem an absolute freak of a talent though. Would require a pretty big collapse for him to not get a look-in.

Looks like he has a pretty solid technique. That's the first thing I noticed. You think of Smith at around 20 or Konstas now and they all had massive holes in their techniques despite the natural talent. Could have a long career for sure
