Not sure it's hypocrisy. Just realised, not before time, there's more to life than politics.
For sure, but why boycott in the first place then, if you boycott fatigue just lets the bad hombres win in the end?

And easy for us to say there's more to life than politics but we're not getting beaten by ZANU-PF thugs or being kept in jail for months without trial because we opposed the government.

Different governments and cricket administrators have been and gone since then, different views and opinions as to what to do. I was too young to know anything about it at the time and know little about it now, but see no reason to not play Zimbabwe now.

I always believe the "bad guys" care little about that sort of thing anyway and all it does is punish those playing and watching the games.

Do you have any views on South Africa's isolation from the game in the 1970s and 1980s?

Mugabe, despite supposedly loving his cricket, was very much anti-Britain, are the current government in the same vein or are they more palatable to Britain?

I would love to see Jonny Bairstow back, for a couple of years.
As we speak, he's 70* from 66 balls against Essex.
We saw Stokes opening for England recently, hitting a very quick fifty.

On cricinfo it is reported that after the test match Zimbabwe will play South Africa in a 4 day match at Arundel, a shame they cant agree to make it an official test, it would make the game more meaningful.
lil pre wtc warmup. Does Australia get anything?
