Might as well get Maharaj to open. Could play as a specialist batter alongside Piedt. Hang on. Here's a nice XI for the third Test:

Elgar - 5
Maharaj
Piedt
Hamza
Du plessis*
De kock +
Muthusamy - 4
Philander - 2
Bavuma
Linde - 3
Rabada - 1

Have to persist with Bavuma here. Can play as a specialist fielder if need be.

Its seems like a long time since the 2nd test finished. But yeah, it was a four day match.

These guys get the whole week to roam around the cities. Would love to have this facility in the industry which I am working :)

Marsh and Markram injuring themselves pretty much in the same stupid way within just a few days, you couldn't make this ****e up if you tried

This tour has gone bad all the ways it could have gone bad for SA, hasn't it? I mean I expected the scoreline, sure but I had expected a few silver linings like a few guys making a name for themselves or something.

Has to be Hamza and Piedt as a straight swap for Markram and Maharaj.
Yeah Muthusamy makes a lot more sense as a selection in a team where Maharaj isn't playing. I'd let Hamza open too, even if it'd unfortunately give Firdose ammunition against everyone who rightly told her she was off her face as usual.

South Africa's bowling average this series so far is their worst in history by a huge margin. They're averaging 89.13 runs a wicket, the next worst is a tie between England 1924 and Sri Lanka 2006, with 59.54.

Like 1/3 the wickets are declaration throws as well. Fair to say this has been their poorest show with the ball ever.

Prediction:

Ind: 650/5
SA: 50/5 to 350/10
SA: 30/5 to 299/10

2 half-centuries and a four-for to Rabada. Muthusamy's average creeps up over 100.

Can see SA putting some pressure if they get to bat first. Their batting hasn't been the problem this series. Not sure how much it'll matter though, especially with Maharaj gone they're going to struggle with the ball more than ever.
