*Official* New Zealand in Zimbabwe 2025 (Tests)

True.

It's actually a really rubbish article, especially this part:

If they had reached it and then Zimbabwe had batted out the next two days for a draw, or unlikely rain had arrived, few would have minded.

That's naivety at its extreme
2 days = 180 overs , Any team that can bat out 180 overs deserves a draw . That's what they were trying to say . Weather forecast was perfect for the whole test

Yeah but they said few would have minded. Which is not true, they'd be widely derided for batting too long. And does Rob Walter want that result on his resume 2nd Test up? No, he doesn't...that's why he picked Henry Nicholls over Rhys Mariu.

Zimbabwe got out in a session. They were never going to bat out 2 days. Even if NZ had batted until the end of day 4, a draw would still only have been a remote possibility.

"It's enough to just beat Zimbabwe"

It was the 3rd largest innings victory of all time and our biggest. We didn't just beat them, it was a massacre already.
Lol you even quoted wrong, it should have been the biggest victory ever , Ravindra could have got a triple hundred and still won the game with a day to spare

Nah if you can't bowl Zimbabwe out in 180 overs you got to look at the bowlers and nobody else

Since the first test I’ve been travelling in Namibia with only intermittent reception. Currently in Windhoek with wifi so I will just say the whole series while a treat to be there was obviously extremely disappointing and now ZC are tearing into the Mayor of Bulawayo (opposition politician David Coltart) and various others who have criticised selection and performance. The cycle never really ends.
