Nice wicket collection for Foulkes. As long as it swings he will be a handful, especially to left handers. Leg slip/gully will be a good position when he bowls to right handers too.
Young was in total control until he played-on the same short medium pace ball that he'd already hit for four several times.
Hmm, what I saw of him was fairly much what I expected. Shaped it initially, can bowl good balls with late movement, but also bowled a fair bit of floaty full stuff which was pretty easily handled. I don't see a Test bowler there and his batting isn't good enough for all-rounder status (yet). Definitely doesn't have the tools as a first change bowler at that level.Looks like Foulkes has been doing well.
Not sure he'll need to bat in this innings, let alone be out there long enough to retire on a double century. How many will Henry retire on? 200? 250?
I'll go 203, but that might be optimistic. How many will Henry retire on? 200? 250?
Wait, they moved venue for day 5? Was this a regular thing back then?Looks like a wonderful day at the cricket! I went to Bulawayo once for this game: ZIM vs NZ Cricket Scorecard, 2nd Test at Bulawayo, September 25 - 29, 1997
The match was pretty tedious for the first 4 days, and only sprang to life after we went back to Harare on day 5. My main memory is playing cricket behind the scoreboard with other kids I met at the ground. I also remember staying at the Bulawayo Club, which was like taking a timewarp back to the 1890's.
Wonder if Young will finally get a Test hundred.
I'm blaming you two for this, and not the beautiful classical styles of my man William Alexander Young.Got to 50 off 49 balls and is 16 off 40 since then. Wouldn't be surprised if he does something loose soon.
