Commentators suggesting Tsiga shouldn't farm the strike with Chivanga here. This is your daily reminder that commentators are dumb.
I can't believe how deluded they are, not once have they ever acknowledged the gulf in class between the opposition..
They talk about the most random things to try and take people's minds off the demolition jobs going on in the match, like I wanna hear the insight into Zims domestic structure, their plans to get better , young and upcoming players etc..

I don't want to hear why it's a bad idea for a Zim bat to protect the no.11 at 100/9 , or how Bulawayo pitch is worst for batting on Day 4 & 5, be realistic !

Eh I don't really agree. Their job is to commentate on the game before their eyes. Yes they should do their homework so they can discuss it with context, but we knew one team was much better than the other before the game started, you should have watched a podcast on it if that's what you wanted to listen to them talk about.

Brother they were talking about most successful bowling units like West Indies quartet , Broad and Anderson , Morkel , Steyn and Philander for like a good 10-15 minutes , how is that commentating on the game ?

And like complaining about Tsiga shielding the No.11 at 100 odd for 9 is silly, it's a hopeless situation for a match that will do well to last 3 days ..

Not Terrible
I don't disagree with the idea that sports commentary is fairly turgid and it'd be better if we were able to hear a flavour of commentary we personally like. Most of CW would probably prefer a more critical/analytical commentary style, but the TV audience is catered to the casual audience because they're the largest demographic.

Also some commentators are just crap either way

This is looking like being another thrashing for Zimbabwe, bowled out for 125 and now Conway and Young have already gone past their total.

Good to see Brendan Taylor back for them though and top scoring with 44 along with Henry getting another 5'fer and Foulkes getting a 4'fer on debut.

If only I could watch this test here instead of just following it on cricinfo.

I hope NZ don't declare on anyone who manages to be on the brink of a massive score, I think it would be a waste not to create some sort of record against this opposition

As much as I like NZ winning I don't enjoy Zimbabwe getting thrashed.

They used to be a competitive test country and cricket country in general up until the 2003 World Cup before their best players defected elsewhere.

Things seem to be looking better there now that Mugabe has gone but they still haven't recovered from those defections after the 2003 World Cup.

This batting line up still looks decent on paper, but they are suffering from:

1. Lack of recent Test experience
2. Four of their best five players being geriatric

The bowling, however, is gash.
