***Official***Match #19 - Netherlands vs Sri Lanka - October 21st - Lucknow (Day)

Molehill

International Coach
The two teams who came through the qualifiers and theoretically the weakest in the group.

Can Sri Lanka pick up their first win? Probably only if they bowl a lot better than they have so far.

I’m picking Netherlands here. Sri Lanka’s batting has no resistance if you can get early wickets. While Netherlands showed a lot of heart their last win. They were down plenty of times that game

The fact that Netherlands has a real chance, and not just as a massive upset, makes me sad for Sri Lankan cricket.

normally I go for the underdog if I’m neutral but this time I’m not sure who I want to win. I do want SL cricket to be better.

I’m still very sad every time I see the table and WI are not on it.

I kind of like this format with every team playing every team.

I also like two groups of eight with every team playing every other team in their group. And then have SF and Final.

some may say it’s too long but I like the idea of teams going in andout of form andfighting back after a slow start etc

2 groups of six would be the right balance i think.

Actually 2 groups of 7 will be fine I think with QFs

I'd prefer 12 teams, one pool. Cricket has the depth now. With the saturation of T20 I'm actually keen for a big ODI WC because it doesn't feel endless due to getting less ODIs in general.

Great start by the boys but we can't allow Netherlands to get away like what SA did when they had them 6 down for not many. Madushanka has been brilliant.

For FFS ! Of course Netherlands has a bad day the next game to make us Saffas feel more **** ,***** .Played their WC final already.

Good fightback from these two. There was some assistance for the seamers early up and the srilankan batting lineup is shaky past asalanka. Get a few early wickets after scrapping to a below par/ par total and this game is on.

Length itself not an issue as you can play a day and day night game per day if need be. But you’d get a lot of dead rubbers in that format.

Another great recovery from the Dutch, you can never write them off, just when you think they are gone they fight their way back into it.
