IMO The Oval is the only game where either team could legitimately claim they deserved to win. All the other results were fine as they landed.

Edgbasron - England had to bat 90 overs on a super flat pitch. Most teams save the game

Old Trafford - India had to bat 150 overs down 0/2. A draw in that situation is without precedent however flat the pitch.
Re Edgbaston, in theory, but looking at the way England players bat with the exception of Root and occasionally Stokes, that was highly unlikely. Nearly all of those players have to play shots and just couldn't defend in the way that the likes of Cook/Strauss/Trott could do back in 2010. Not even close.

Re Old Trafford, maybe but England still didn't get particularly close.
