*Official* CW XI in Australia (The VB Series)

Cloete

International Captain
Great stuff CWXI!! Truly magnidicent batting, and absolutely sublime bowling!

Now all we need to do is put in as much effort into the next game. We may not be rewarded quite so well... But I'm sure we can win if we put in that sort of effort!

Personally I'm very happy with my 75* as well. It seems Buts and I have been batting quite well together. But it was nothing special(my innings) given the great performances of all the other batsmen!

Great team effort, we showed what we can do in that game however the job is NOT done...

We must repeat this effort in the next game and then we are a shot at the finals...

Great work from Buttsy on the fine hundred, very well deserved...

Once again, great team effort but lets not stop here...

Pakistan Blunders To Keep CW In Hunt

Pakistan missed a huge opportunity to secure their space in the finals, when they failed to chase 234 for victory against Australia at the WACA. The 38-run victory for the hosts means that the Cricket Web XI stay alive in the tournament ahead of the final round robin match tomorrow.

Asked to bat first, Australia was off to a pleasant start with 61 runs on the board before Gilchrist (31) was first out to Razzaq. Hayden (41) went on to register the second highest score of the innings, second to Andrew Symonds' top score of 42. Darren Lehmann (39), Michael Clarke (28) and Damien Martyn (28) also made contributions, but Razzaq's 4 wickets and Afridi's 3 limited the tournament favourites to 233/9.

The first ball of the Pakistan response saw action. Salman Butt drove at McGrath and was caught behind for a duck. Younis Khan (2) and Yousuf Youhana (0) quickly followed and it was 4/3. That later became 24/4, then 54/5. Lower order contributions from Abdur Razzaq (40), Shahid Afridi (44) and Kamran Akmal (27) pushed Pakistan in with a chance, but the Aussies held their nerve and took victory points.

Pakistan remains in second place in the VB series standings with 12 points, meaning that they need just 1 bonus point against the Cricket Web XI at the WACA tomorrow to get into the finals against Australia.

Yep, the family an the locals will be down there cheering on their home town boy :)

The WACA pitch should be good for my bowling style and I'm amped for a good performance. Whether I get them out or knock them out - its the same result!
