In similar conditions to the first warmup, Brendon Goff won the toss once more and decided to give his bowlers a shot in fresh conditions.
The early wicket of North was a big lift, then Haddin was run out brilliantly by an aggressive bit of fielding by the bowler Malone. David Hussey came in and played the role of rotating the strike whilst Brad Hodge maximized on some good form. At the end Mike Hussey continued to frustrate the tourists with some wonderful strokeplay.
A total of 80 runs were scored off the last 7 overs as the CW bowling continues to be a point of concern.
The chase didn't see things much better and the in-form Malone fended Tait to the gully early on. Markus, Cloete, Butler and Robbins showed signs of form, but none of the middle order carried on as needed.
Ultimately Brad Hodge pressed his claim further for the Man of the Match award and took 3 big wickets, including the CW XI captain late in the chase. Brett Lee came on and wrapped up the show for a big 75-run win for the Australian 2nd XI.

Nice from a personal perspective to pick up my performance following the disgraceful effort last time around, but I'd far rather we won. Some serious issues, both bowling and start-converting, to work on before the series proper kicks off.

Camps Catches The Flu
Allrounder Liam Camps will miss the first two games of the VB series with what is thought to be the flu. Whilst playing in murky and damp conditions in the weekend's warmup matches, Camps managed to pick up a bug and is now suffering from flu-like symptoms.
This blow has come at the wrong time for this Cricket Web XI side, who already are struggling in the bowling department on tour. Now the party is one bowler short for the start of the series.
