Does anyone know why Shaun Marsh was dropped? Injured?
To make way for Marcus North. Mind you a tad suprised that Davis was preferred to him even if Marsh would be a makeshift opener. Mind you Davis made the most of the selection with a hundred. A fair bit of depth around the WA batting line up, these days. David Hussey still wouldn't make the WA side IMO.

Noffers has 36 in 7 matches, Bollinger has 39 and this is his 6th match. Still got 14 wickets available in this one too. He is by far the form bowler of the competition.

Thing is though, Noffke has carried the QLD bowling attack (I.E he hasn't had the likes of Bracken to back him up) and has had less innings to bowl due to the general direness of the QLD batsmen. So yeah, wouldn't exactly call him the "form bowler by far".

You obviously didn't read anything I wrote. Put Bollinger in the QLD team without Bracken & Nicholson (who have easily been bowling better than the rest of the QLD attack) and I very much doubt that he'd have a record better than Noffkes.

Easily been bowling better than the Queensland attack? How much Pura Cup have you watched this year mate? It's pure guesswork to say that Bollinger wouldn't be doing as well as Noffke if he played for Queensland. None of the other New South Wales bowlers were doing ANYTHING today and Bollinger still took 5 of the first 5 wickets. So that shows he quite obviously can do something when no one else is doing anything.

Haha, easily was an understatement. Noffke has 34 wickets, and QLDs next highest wicket taker is Chris Swan with just 6!!! Yes, that's it 6 wickets, meaning Noffke has almost 6 times as many wickets as the next best QLD bowler.

Bollinger also has 34 wickets, backed up by Bracken with 20, Nicholson 13, Clark 11, and hell, even Lambert has more wickets than QLDs second best with 7.

My argument wasn't that he wouldn't do as well as Noffke, It was that it's quite unlikely that he would do substantially better. Noffke himself is basically QLDs attack, Bollinger at least has some quality support which is undoubtedly a huge advantage in Bollingers favour.

One could argue though Bollinger has bowled at his best when the rest of NSW attack had done nothing and given little support. With that in mind you could argue that in a side that provides less support he would step up more often. He hasn't bowled that well when Bracken and co have had decent games and provided more support.

Even if you go with the theory that his best performance have been as a result of better general support. Then that could be an advantage in selection, as Australia need bowlers who can bowl as a team and around other bowlers. Rather then someone like say Tait who just used to carrying the attack and hasn't really learn't how to bowl in partnerships.

id have Bollinger for the Aus team too

because presumebly he'd replace Midge and it would be nice to have left arm variety...

chaminda raises a good point too
