Hey Irfan,

Was sitting in the Reserve Seating near to the sight screen absolutely opposite the Lillie Marsh Stand near where Brad Hodge was fielding all evening. I think you might've been close by too, as I saw a few other Indian's and people of subcontinental heritage in the same seats. Reserve Seating, Block 4, Gate 3 enterance.

Enjoyed the game though, will be there on Wednesday cheering India on. Was a bit upset about the flack Hodge was receiving as he's one of my favourite players and just a great representative of Victorian Cricket, but he was a great sport pointing to this Victoria Bushrangers emblem on his jersey and just playing up the crowd even more.

Haha, I was just one block over at Block 3, Gate 3 - Reserve seating. I was with my uni mates (not Indian) and I know Hodge is a solid player and all, but have never really warmed up to him, thought he came off a bit smug and arrogant (pointing to the scoreboard.) Have always been a fan of D Hussey (shud def be in Aus 20/20) and McGain & Blizzard looked very promising as well.

I think you were in the block that was abusing Hodge all evening. Must have annoyed ya.

Yeah I was in that block. Good for a laugh I guess, but yeah Hodgy's one of my favourites so to see him pretty cool and just play it off was rather good. Yeah I don't know why David Hussey doesn't get considered for Australia as he's a great batsman and a handy bowler too. Blizzard impressed me a lot today with his strokeplay.

I think I might have seen you there mate, in the next block I was the Indian guy with the white polo shirt, and was with my family there in Block 4. Was that you with the few asian uni students who came to watch the cricket?.

Yeah that's cool. Yeah I was in a white polo and I wear glasses, so if anybody saw an Indian guy with a white polo and glasses then that was me. I must say though, the WACA is a great ground to go and watch cricket in, although the MCG is the best cricket ground I've ever been too.

The WACA stadium was brilliant and the pitch was great too. I was just thinking to myself, man India really need to play Virender Sehwag if the pitch is going to be anything like today's. I can just see Sehwag latching on to anything short and wide and the ball would just sail away to the third man boundary.

Agreed, a packed WACA is an awesome sight. Neva been to Melbourne but would love to go the G.

You say you were with you're family, so are they originally from here (WA) or did you travel with your folks down from Melbourne?

On the evidence of today's match, the pitch played pretty well, sure there was pace and bounce but batsman could hit through the line. With that in mind I don't think India will do as bad as people will expect them too and the flat-footed types (Sehwag, Jaffer etc. might prosper). Aus will still probably cane us though.

We're all from Melbourne and have been living there for the last 16 years. My dad an Engineer like myself and sometimes is in Perth for long periods of time due to work. He's got work in Perth at the moment so we thought we'd all come down to Perth for the Christmas holidays. We've been to Perth many times and we love it down here as well.

Have a look at the front-on replay mate.

Don't need the side-on replay.

There are cheats in cricket, the same as any other segment of the sporting landscape.

BARNES OUT
I saw the front-on replay numerous times, there's no way you can conclusively say it bounced in front of him unless you've got a closer view than I had.

Bomber (you have to refer to players by nicknames in this format!) must be in line for Twenty20 Aus selection.

Easily. My team would be:

+Gilchrist
Marsh
Ponting (C)
D.Hussey
Symonds
Pomersbach
Noffke
Watson (comeback game imo)
McGain
Bracken
Tait

Give M.Hussey, Clarke, Lee, Johnson, Hoggy and Hayden a rest.
