So thinking this for the first 4 day game

Konstas
Kellaway

Philippe (+)
Connolly
Edwards
Bartlett
O'Neill
Rocchiccioli
Murphy

Reserves: Peake, Scott

Edit: Morris out of tour so O'Neill makes the XI

Morris ruled out for 12 months with injury

I reckon Peake is locked into the side for this tour. There's absolutely no need for 7 genuine front line bowling options with McSweeney as a part time option (Peake can bowl some part time spin as well). Going with that many options just means that they won't get a chance to be used properly anyway.

I suspect O'Neill and Bartlett each get 1 game in the same spot (originally it would have been Bartlett and Morris). That helps minimize the risk of injury to either ahead of the Ashes where they could be bolters specially with Cummins' injury now. Scott and Edwards will be on a rotation with each other as well.

The entire point of this squad is to try and get some young guys experience in Indian conditions ahead of the 2027 tour and while Peake is no where near Test selection now he very well could be by then if he has a great shield season.

Thank god no mukesh or kamboj. They should play prasidh and gurnoor in one game and khaleel and thakur in other. Also ensure jagdeeshan plays both as he looks good to be #3 in national side

Who's Peake replacing out of Hardie, Connolly or Edwards?

Hardie and Connolly are CA contracted players while Edwards is probably the best performing allrounder in shield after Webster

The Neo sports era was the only time I ever watched domestic cricket reasonably frequently. Good times.
I still remember they showed bcci xi vs touring Australians in 2008 where young kohli and rohit scored hundreds esp rohit smashing lee and Johnson all around they ground. Then young chawla running through likes of hayden, punter clarke before hussy saving aus from embressment of lossing to ranji xi. 11 year old me was just getting hooked to cricket. Sad those golden days wont come again😭
