Dippenaar doesn't qualify. Has a much better ODI record than test of course but only 107 Odis vs 38 tests.

I'll take Martin Guptill, who I consider to be good value for late in round 5 considering Rohit went in round 2. They're pretty similar calibre ODI openers imo


Edit- dammit, I see Guptill doesn't qualify with the test/ODI ratio. I swear he like never plays tests.

Ill go Shoaib Malik instead, a solid bat and useful second spin option. Utility player to the max

Plus a terrific 2/27 off his 10 in the 92 WC final, sealing the match with his Fairbrother dismissal and keeping things a fair bit tighter than Wasim who stole the glory with his famous 2 in 2
