Mundane sightings of high-profile cricketers

Met Farokh Engineer at a 80th birthday party that my friend threw for his father (they were old friends from Lancashire). He was one cool guy. Enjoyed a few pints and a fine raconteur about the good old days.

Still pinching myself this happened 🤩

These two were sitting with a lady at breakfast. I went to Walsh and sheepishly said "sorry if I'm disturbing you, you are Courtney Walsh?". He said "no, I'm his twin brother"

Me: "And he is Curtly Ambrose"

Awkwardly tried to take a selfie at the breakfast table but couldn't fit all 3. Big Curtly said let's stand up and take a picture

Courtney Walsh has always has that expression of someone who's 1 part surprised,1 part shocked & 1 part disgusted... All the time.

He looks like actor Charles Dutton from Aliens 3 in that pic.

Thanks for bumping this. I forgot how hilarious Courtney’s expression was in this. You do look happy though @ankitj

I would've asked Walsh 2 questions if I bumped into him.

1.Was he absolutely gutted when Stuart Broad announced his retirement thus guaranteeing him holding that wonderful 'Most Test Ducks' record for at least another decade or so?

2.Why was it so hard for him to catch a cricket ball? LOL! That amount of sitters I witnessed that guy drop from memory made me chuckle... Terrible pair of hands.
