Most improved

Thread is pretty simple.

NOT the best/worst/most overrated/underrated/exciting/best away from home/best peaks etc.

Just the "most improved" cricketers

I'll start with Temba Bavuma. He seemed pretty mediocre a few years ago, but is genuinely good now.

I'll also add
Matt Henry
Jimmy Anderson
plus Vettori & Mehidy for their batting

Others?

You basically looking for players who got much better as their career progressed?

Matt Prior couldn't catch a cold when first selected by England and was dropped for his keeping, despite his batting being fine.

While he was never an Evans or Knott, he became a very competent gloveman when he was recalled and integral part of the Strauss side.

The vast majority of players with full length careers have a slow first couple years and then come right.

Some guys who were slower for a bunch of years before coming very right: Chanders, Gooch, Anderson, Walsh.

Kenneth Viljoen

International Regular
I would add Joe Root , he's always been a consistent player in terms of getting a start, but for a long time he often threw hundreds away , it became such an issue that a lot of people questioned if he was a world class batsman .

Since 2021 his conversion rate has improved massively, become a much more ruthless batsman.
