In continuation of my tradition of starting thread ideas with no merit whatsoever, I present the following comparison:

90-98 Chicago Bulls
99-07 Australian Cricket team

Who were you more certain was going to win a consequential game or series?

In order to answer that question we must consider the variability of their respective sports. Consider "[t]he median probability of the best team winning a neutral site game is highest in the NBA (67%), followed in order by the NFL (64%), NHL (57%) and MLB (56%)" (Lopez et al., 2018).

For tests (ignoring draws/ties/no results), I'd wager the probability of the best team winning is probably higher than in the NBA. This is exacerbated by the fact that the variability in quality of test teams exceeds the same figure for NBA teams. For ODIs? Probably lower.

India's carrom team probably was more dominant than either. In last 25 years Only challenged by a handful of Sri Lankans in odd years.

Well if carrom gets a mention I'll advance St. George winning 11 premiership in a row from 1956 - 1966 and Randwick winning 14 Shute Shields between 1978 - 1996.
