WI had already beaten stronger sides than the ones they did under Marshall. Their side was stronger in the early 80s than when Marshall had his peak in the mid 80s.

Roberts/Croft/Garner/Holding was as formidable as Marshall/Walsh/Holding/Garner of the time.

Marshall himself didn't complete the side or change any formula.

Marshall is not nearly as great as you make him out to be. Just cool your jets.

'Probably' as in even you aren't sure. I think they had a stronger batting and bowling early 80s and you will agree they beat better teams.

Regardless, saying that Marshall completed that team or he carried it is factually untrue and that wasn't the impression the players had either.

McGrath on the other hand clearly was the MVP for Australia from 95 onwards. This isn't close.

Pardon? He struck at about 68–69 runs per 100 balls. It's (probably) only a handful of games lacking ball-by-ball data that prevent a precise figure being given.

We have complete ball by ball data for 79/121 of Viv’s matches. Missing ones - all matches against India, all bar 2 matches against Pakistan.

He is stilll just above those bowlers and gap is not too wide. Avg is expected for a bit higher for lone wolf. Batsmen try to see you off and score against others.
