I'd have thought Warne at the 99 World Cup and Willis from Headingley 81 onwards would be the two obvious ones.

Angus Fraser is one I immediately thought of. Injury prone and discarded, seemingly for good, by Ray Illingworth following the 95/96 South Africa tour, having taken just 7 wickets in his last 5 Tests. Then recalled to tour the West Indies 2 years later, where he took 27 wickets, before taking 24 in the series win over South Africa at home.
