I think maybe Tendulkar was more important to Indian cricket, but Kohli’s more important for cricket overall(the Olympics thing, his passion for test cricket etc).

Bro I live there. I know Dhoni is atleast as popular. He is probably one of the most famous men in the history of Tamil Nadu atleast
TN may be.. Because Dhoni represented them in IPL.
But then you can find Sachin references in tamil film songs, even before Sachin scoring his first ODI 100.

Yeah Dhoni is mad popular there. Lots of people from TN will literally froth at the mouth if someone badmouths him.

Maradona comparison is apt. Both were cheating ****s whose cheating is forgiven/ignored because of their talent.
Meh, i feel like ball tampering was pretty commonplace back then so i don't really like using it as a stick to beat any one individual by.

The same way it was cool for Lance Armstrong to roid rage his way to the Tour de France

I'd consider being a systematic and extremely deliberate drugs cheat who used extensive intimidation and ostracization techniques towards anyone who might potentially get in his way far worse than a bit of ball tampering but you do you

You missed the point. You implied it was ok to deliberately cheat because “it was commonplace” - that was the parallel I was drawing.

We'd have to strike off a whole lot of ATG cricketers too then. Maradona's cheating remit was a lot wider than Tendulkar's too
