Yes it wasn't, and flintoff averaging 7 better overseas in such a tough era for bowling shouldn't be kept under the carpet that easily.
And him averaging 7 runs worse with the bat overseas than home in such an easier era for batting shouldn't be swept aside under the carpet either.

Must be a joke honestly.
Jadeja averages 40 as a bat outside of India, and has performed in Australia and England, his two most important opponents. He’s played as a bat outside of India

Botham averages 32 outside of England, including a whopping 14 in the West Indies and 30 in Australia his two most important opponents.

whatever perceived differences in bowling may exist are far outweighed by the gulf in batting

Home away bowling split.

Batting inflation.
how is there batting inflation over much of Jadeja’s career vs the 1980s

this is willful blindness dude, I had it for a while with Jadeja because he doesn’t “look” like a great cricketer but the numbers are obvious

Bothams away bowling average is just under 30, whilst Jadejas is 37. That's a pretty big away bowling gulf

That's a case but I don't think it's a strong case given away average for both as bowler.
