Kapil is as far ahead of Greenidge as a cricketer as Greenidge is ahead of Kapil in primary skill alone.

Greenidge gets in a modern first or second XI, likely. Wheras Kapil doesn't. But that's more to do with there being so many incredible all-rounders in the early part of modern cricket than anything. Think they're both very skilled in their respective roles.

True for Greenidge. Spinners would throw Kapil out of the top 50.

Both very good category on their primary skill. As a bowler Kapil is equivalent of a 45+ avg batsman. Add to that The legacy he created amongst Indian pacers and he was a world record holder.
That makes them Equals in primary skills (and Kapil greater )
Now think about this,
Both scored 3 centuries against ATG bowlers ( Greenidge 1 away, Kapil 2 )
Kapil is far far greater Overall.

Actually he was in 45th place in the 2024 poll of bowlers (tied with Akhtar). Do think he'd fall a bit if the poll was done now. And top 30 as a pacer is just overrating him.
