Yeah, I would rather go think @Pap Finn Keighl 's take on Kapil than @BazBall21's ........ Just remember, Kapil was a better bowler than Botham
We will never agree on Kapil. This site would die within a week if everyone agreed on everything.Yeah, I would rather go think @Pap Finn Keighl 's take on Kapil than @BazBall21's ........ Just remember, Kapil was a better bowler than Botham
No, I don't think we will. Though definitely think shoving him behind Boycott is going a little overboardWe will never agree on Kapil. This site would die within a week if everyone agreed on everything.
Was he tho?Just remember, Kapil was a better bowler than Botham
He was serviceable for longer but never reached the sustained top drawer heightsWas he tho?
Was never really as bad as Botham. Better record against (and in) Australia and most importantly, was pretty great against (and in) WI. Botham sucked against them hard. Also, Kapil never reaching great heights is not really true. In 1983, he took 75 wickets @22. It's in top 7 for a calendar year. Adjust for home conditions, and that 1 run difference turns pretty meaningless really quick. Was he tho?
I didn't know that.In 1983, he took 75 wickets @22. It's in top 7 for a calendar year.
Bloody hell. I see this included the Windies home and away. Also that in 1979 he took 74 @ 23 in one fewer game. Was never really as bad as Botham. Hmmm very interesting.@Prince EWS voting for a specialist while everyone else voted for the allrounder is certainly interesting......
No, nope I don't. Yesterday Coronis posted a statement about bowlers with most wickets sub 15 in a calendar year, as Bumrah jointly has the most with 62 this year alongside Imran. So, I was just looking at most wickets in a calendar year and found that.I didn't know that.
Seems like you have a list of greatest calender year performances.
CAN I SEE IT?
You're not living up to expectations man.No, nope I don't.
AgreedKapil's bowling vs Boycott's batting will be a good comparison. Overall it's Kapil easily
Boycott is overall closer to Vinoo Mankad than Kapil Dev imoKapil's bowling is more compareable to Michael Atherton's batting then Geoffrey Boycott's imo
Cook, openers playing fast, especially in countries with excessive sideways movement is basically brain-dead behaviourI also think Boycott is underrated due to his strike rate (which I basically just don't care about at all, but in the case of openers perhaps even have the opposite opinion to the majority).
well that just means Mankad's bowling > Kapil's bowling.Boycott is overall closer to Vinoo Mankad than Kapil Dev imo
