Kapil's bowling vs Boycott's batting will be a good comparison. Overall it's Kapil easily
Boycott’s batting > Kapil’s bowling and it’s not close

Geoff Boycott averages 45+ in 6 out of the 7 countries he played and the one exception was NZ(22 in 5 Tests)

How? You don't think it's close between Boycott the batter and Kapil the bowler?
Kapil was an honest trier that fulfilled his potential averaging 29 overall and 32 overseas. Boycott has no real weaknesses in his resume except scoring tempo which is a relatively minor detail in tests.

But how would you justify going for Boycott over Kapil as an overall cricketer?

That's beside the point I raised. But I don't have as big an issue with Boycott's scoring tempo as some people, thus I regard him as an ATG batsman. Kapil wasn't even nearly great in either discipline and never really was at any stage of his career.
