Steve Waugh very easily. Second best of the 90s, after Sachin, and played so many vital knocks against ATG bowlers(Ambrose, Donald, the 2 Ws). Well balanced record too, with NZ and SL the poor spots, but against all the strong teams, really great.

Exactly. Kallis and to a certain extent Dravid's record are inflated by the flat era of the 2000s.

Also Steve Waugh, was a grinder, not a defensive bat.

Not sure. Probably when I was critiquing Sehwag or Kohli and then it descended into him and a bunch of other patriots against me, thread after thread.
Tbf you are one of the people on the forum, who are positive about Kohli the bat rather than the other way

Surprisingly @Prince EWS's standardised averages model seems to think Waugh had much easier batting conditions on average across his career than Kallis did, which is the opposite of what you'd expect given he played through the early 90s and missed most of the 00s run fest era. What's up with that PEWS, does your model just think SA is that much harder to bat in than Aus?

It was Kohli the captain.
About your critiques of Indian players, the only ones I have a problem with are the spinner duo; everyone else, I surprisingly agree with you, while disagree with most others on CW (ex- Dravid, Sehwag, Kohli (both as a batsman and captain), etc.)..... Among your other takes I have seen, you downplay Kallis too much, simultaneously overhyping Ponting and yeah, I think you overrate Imran Khan a bit.....

Hmm idr his model or anything but obviously Home conditions will be a major factor.

In matches played in SA that Kallis played in the average was 31.27

In matches played in Aus that Waugh played in the average was 33.75

I am actually a big fan of the Ganguly/Dhoni team so I don't get where being anti-India comes from.

Maybe it started here.
