He would suffer a hit. SA is extremely bowler-friendly and he has a big home/away split.
Andy Roberts played in a much bowler friendly era aswell , batsman didn't have the protection they had now nor the quality of bats , pitches were more bowler friendly , bouncer rule wasnt as strict as it is today and Roberts had some mighty fine bowling partners to feed off , Rabada would have loved being part of that era.

As Kenneth said Roberts also played in an extremely bowling friendly era.

Yes SA is extremely bowling friendly but an average of 3 points lower and 80 wickets makes it pretty hard to decide.

70s weren't that bowler friendly especially in the WI. Roberts's home conditions were easily harder than Rabada's. The overall bowling average in matches involving Roberts is 30.7 and it's 31.5 at home. It's only 25.8 in matches involving Rabada which I found insane. https://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/e...r_involve=67296;template=results;type=batting

Did I **** up the query? Assuming I didn't, I think Roberts played in much higher scoring matches considering he was more of a forerunner to the pace bowling golden age rather than a part of it.

I went with Robert because of his superior away record. It's qualitatively better than Rabada's so I ignored longevity.

The helmets point is a bit of a nuanced grey area but I feel fairly certain Roberts had less helpful pitches. His better away record edges him ahead for now.
