He had 3/4th of career in ATG level. Fans often discount him due to his last 3 years and he did lose the ability to take 5-fers.Averaging 20.71 after 315 wickets probably makes Pollock one. Not as destructive as the other ATGs though.
Greenidge is Broad in comparison @Thala_0710Cummins = Weekes
Rabada = Walcott
Almost 0 batsmen or bowlers were at “ATG level” their entire career. You could argue Tendulkar was only at ATG level for 3/4 of his career. He had 3/4th of career in ATG level. Fans often discount him due to his last 3 years and he did lose the ability to take 5-fers.
Keyword almost (specifically used with him in mind tbh)

Technically speaking, Ken Barrington was ATG for the majority of his career.Almost 0 batsmen or bowlers were at “ATG level” their entire career.
Makes it easier when you only play for 9 years tbfTechnically speaking, Ken Barrington was ATG for the majority of his career.
Ken scored a 50 in just his 3rd Test and was very consistent till the end of his career.
He never averaged below 40 in two consecutive test series.
Everytime he averaged below 40 in a test series, he bounced back in the next series.
Against SA, he averaged 37 in a series.
Next series, he averaged 45.50 in Ashes.
Against Pak, he once averaged 20 in a series.
Next series, he averaged 75 in Ashes.
Against WI, he averaged 27.5 in a series.
In the next two series, he scored 500+ runs.
Against SA, he averaged 33 in a series.
Next series, he averaged 67 in Australia.
*He was dropped after 2 Tests.
He came back after 4 years.

Ken Barrington is not a popular name. Maybe even forgotten now but undoubtedly he is an all time great.Ken Barrington is arguably not even an ATG.
it’s the opposite, he was not seen as remotely great then but has been “rediscovered” because people see his stats without contextKen Barrington is not a popular name. Maybe even forgotten now but undoubtedly he is an all time great.
He was always seen as one of the reliable run accumulators of them all, the writers from that era diffrentiated between run accumulators and batsmen, the modern ones don't and therefore he gets rated higher. Nobody cares about elegance, range, talent and entertainment anymoreit’s the opposite, he was not seen as remotely great then but has been “rediscovered” because people see his stats without context
Ken Barrington was an accumulator and played ultra defensively in the most boring period of cricket and that’s why he is not regarded highly.it’s the opposite, he was not seen as remotely great then but has been “rediscovered” because people see his stats without context
