1. Swann - Consistent matchwinner across conditions

2. Lyon - Tough home conditions and somewhat proven across conditions

3. Jadeja - Very condition dependent

I actually agree with this.

Jadeja is a frontline batsman who can bowl in many conditions, and a frontline batsman who is a star bowler in very specific conditio

hugely valuable cricketer but not at Swann or Lyon’s level as a bowler

Swann is better across conditions IMO, except Australia of course.

And frankly, Swann spun the ball sharper, he was more dangerous.

However, I would opt for Lyon as having the better career.
Yes I do think Swann was better than Jadeja across conditions but his career was so short that I view his overall numbers with slightly more skepticism. 5 years all presumably when he was at his peak. Retired out of the blue too. Probable that his averages wouldn't look as great if he had a full career.

Swann in those five years already accomplished more than Jadeja across conditions though to me.

anecdotally I agree with you but I have to ask the question -if he accomplished so much more, why is his performance so much worse

Didn't get to play enough in India.
tbf, Swann has almost the exact same average in both England and India.

Jadeja of course has a far better record in India (likely helped by bowling in tandem with Ashwin), and has a far worse record in England.

Swann was pretty consistent across all non Australian conditions. Jadeja’s home record is an obvious standout but he’s been good/decent everywhere bar Nz/England
