It is imperative that all domestic matches should be shown on Television. This would provide greater exposure of the game and would also drive the First Class players and will result in Competitive games.

A World Cricket league could also be formed. this could involve 40 teams (3 from each of the Test Playing nations and 1 each from the lesser 10 nations. This would help the lesser players to get a change ‧ For Example ‧ Currently an Australian 3rd side would beat most of the Test Playing nations. So this would provide an opportunity to these players. This league could be throughout the year and organized at different times of the year in different countries.

Another advantage would be that the teams would develop a Reserve strength in case any of their International Players in injured. This would be most beneficial to lesser nations as they would have a wider pool of players and would benefits by touring different countries and getting accustomed to different conditions.

The ICC would benefit greatly from the Sponsorship and TV Rights and the viewers would have more number of matches to follow. Great for Everyone.

Why would doing so have any impact? Hardly anyone watches the domestic matches that are already televised.

Not that we get much televised domestic cricket in New Zealand, apart from the odd Twenty20 and the final of the OD competition, but I watch it on every chance that I get. However, having all domestic matches televised would be a majo expense for the ICC and each countries respective cricket boards.

There are like a billion domestic matches a season in England. You'd need about 8 dedicated Domestic English Cricket channels.

The minor flaw being that there isn't a TV company in the World who would pay a single penny for such "Rights" and the sponsorship would be squat.

Well, that's great. There are three of you - throw in Richard and PEWS as well I'm guessing. Now if the five of you can each buy a million dollars worth of the sponsors' products, that might get companies interested in sponsoring the telecast of these games... ;)

I'd watch nearly every day of the Pura if they showed it on telly.
In Australia, I don't think it would be asking too much to televise 1 Sheffield Shield match per round PLUS the Final on pay television.

That means 10 matches per season plus the final. They could pick which game would be the most interesting for whatever reason and televise that every round.

Of course it would be fairer if the televised matches would as balanced as possible - 1 or 2 matches per season for each side.

Yes that is more realistic and would be awesome. :)

A global Club competition would be pushing it cost wise, even footie had to truncate its own competition, a continental based club championship though sounds gun :jockey:

Definitely should do a match of the round type thing with the Pura.

I was in Singapore the past month, and the 'Cricket Channel' and Neo Sports channel there shows Indian domestic cricket including first class games.

I was excited at first and watched a bit, but eventually there are just better things to do, and I'd call myself a cricket nut like most on this board.

The demand for it just isn't there to show so much of it on TV.
