Tilak bowls, Jaiswal bowls.

Draft them in asap. Rinku is clutch as **** in 5/6. Get him in for SKY. We also need to start building reserve quicks for our main guys.

Jaiswal
Gill
Kohli
Tilak
Rahul
Rinku
Hardik
Hangargekar
Kuldeep
Bumrah
Siraj
Will Kohli play the next world cup? He will be 39 by then. Has great fitness but still its doubtful if he can still maintain this batting consistency.

Like Chin said, I am losing faith on Kuldeep's ability in crucial matches. Always buckles under pressure. Did not even look like taking a wicket yesterday and zero pressure imposed on the batsmen. I will prefer a batting spinner ahead of him.
That's utter nonsense. There was nothing in the pitch for the spinners in the second innings. If anything, I came away from this world cup with more confidence in Kuldeep being able to handle the pressure. He bowled crucial overs in the semifinal.

We need more batting so I wouldn't mind either him or suraj getting dropped but how exactly can you say he crumbled under pressure?

My brother in christ, do you not remember the NZ semi 3 days ago? Kuldeep's 2 or 3 over spell that went for SFA when NZ looked a real chance of chasing that target changed the game.

If he doesn't retire in next 3 years he should play. Can't leave the team with a massive hole at 3 close to a WC

I feel you guys need to invest in Prithvi Shaw , every team needs a rebel and he's too talented to not play at the next WC ..He can play the Rohit Sharma role in WC 27

May be I have a very short memory but I only remember Shami winning the NZ game with his bowling while the rest were getting murdered by Kane and Mitchell. But yeah, I am not against Kuldeep or anything. If he can really do well with the ball under pressure and also improve his batting, then he should be in the team.

From an Indian POV, i'de be more worried about replacing the guys who likely aren't gonna make the next WC before I worry about 6th bowlers/#8's who can bat.

Kohli and rohit definitely won't make the next WC, gill should. Not sold on iyer vs the short ball in less friendly conditions, but hopefully he can work that out over the next 4 years. KL is gonna be 35 and a bit next WC. Could make it but I wouldnt bank on him being the keeper given his injury history. Jadeja another question mark, will be 38 . SKY needs to go either way, not good enough at this level. Hardik's gonna be 34 and has an injury history, so you'de ideally wanna blood a backup incase he gets injured mid campaign

Off the top of my head
1.Shaw
2.Gill
3.Jaiswal/Gaikwad
4.Iyer/Rahul
5.Pant/Kishan/Rahul

Looks like a solid top 5, Tilak probably slots in at 6 which means you have jaiswal and tilak to give you some overs. Are their any decent pace bowling allrounders running around who could be ready for the next WC? Only one that springs to mind is dube, but I don't follow the indian domestic stuff enough. Riyan Parag has done really well as an allrounder at the level just below the ipl recent, could be an option if your desperate for another bowling option.

In terms of bowling, you'de assume all of kuldeep, bumrah and siraj will make the next WC. Siraj could come under question if he continues to struggle, but I reckon hey'll bounce back. Hangekar could be a decent replacement for shami, and he bats a bit.

There was some dew. Ball didn't grip that much and there was no scoreboard pressure. Kuldeep is bloody good and decent for someone who comes at number 9. We need more ARs in future. Bowlingwise, Axar/Washi and Kuldeep are ideal at 8 and 9 with two pacers at 10 and 11.

Whatever it takes!!!
There is plenty of time for other players to emerge or some existing regular player to improve leaps and bounds and get to international standards.

The philosophy is what matters now - you need a side with options because its now been proven in modern LO cricket, even a side full of greats or players in great form still cant get the job done if they are all specialists.

Need to invest in Jaiswal, Tilak, Washy for sure and maybe Axar, D Chahar and Bishnoi who seems to be improving as a batter and is a brilliant fielder.

Jaiswal
Rutu
Tilak
SKY (c)
Ishan (wk)
Washy
D Chahar
Axar
Shardul
Bishnoi
Arshdeep

for the Aussie T20s. Maybe similar sides for RSA T20s and ODIs as well before we get back the WC squad players for the tests. Maybe Prasidh, Samson, Shahbaz Ahmed, Yash Dhull, Sai Sudharshan as the rest of the squad.

I am really irritated by Rohit’s captaincy yesterday. If he lacked faith in Siraj , why didn’t he play Ashwin . Not that it would have changed result, but why play a bowler and not back him .
I was not a fan of how much he let things slide, but I think bowling Shami over Siraj was justified. The thing is, he should have had Siraj on for the 8th over and given him a 3 over old ball. It was clear Shami was a bit all over the place.

But then again, that 8th over was the one where he beat Head every ball. On another night, Shami would have broken the game open in that spell.

Shaw will be a backward step. The guy might have plenty of talent but he’s a waste. If Gill’s place is sealed then Jaiswal is a better option with him than Shaw.

Shaw could even bat at no.3 but you can't throw away a talent like this , it would mean coaching system hasn't evolved since Kambli days if they can't man manage players ..
List A average of 57 at a SR of 126 ..
Last two knocks 125 not out and 244 in One Day Cup in England , insane numbers

Classic example of a badboy curbing his ways and becoming a big star is Ricky Ponting ..

Why exactly is he a waste and why is giving a 24 year-old a chance seen as a backward step? He's scoring buckets on the English county List-A circuit. It's the same old tall poppy BS that almost did Kuldeep in.

You mean his double century and a century in county in last two matches is good enough for his comeback now? Anyway I dont see his name in the squad in the upcoming t20 series vs australia so theres that.
