I am not too proud of this but my brother and I used to use my sister as the stumps...

Mind you it was only a tennis ball!

Me and my brother play in our front room, it's too small to bowl in, so I stand behind him in the keeper role. The wall, is our Warne!

We clear the oppsite wall of all pictures etc, and with one glove on I throw the ball against it so it hurtles back towards him while I wait for the edge!

We prop a pad up with a spare bat, thats the wicket. Use a kiddies bat, and tennis ball with tape for the seam.

Don't get much movement, but the introuction of a new rug on the carpet has allowed for some interesting deliveries!

Through the door frame at cover is four, edgy shots landing on the sofa in the slip/gully position is out, also shots hitting chairs at mid-off/mid-on on the full are out.

Other than that runs are adjudicated on how well the shot was played, or not!

That is true dedication to the sport, does it get any better than that. I seem to remember me and my brother tried something similar when I was about 5 or 6 and resulted in some broken items of furniture and a rather unhappy set of parents. :D

When waiting for a tram home from school, me and my mates used to grab a stick as a bat and bowl stones at each other, and hit them onto Glenferrie Rd, and inevitably hit cars. They were small stones, I swear! :-O

at school we used umbrellas, tables, our diaries (hard cover, about A5 size), usually with tennis balls but sometimes in class with scrunched up paper.

The scrunched up paper cricket ball is common use during lag times at work or at school, I used to do the same thing :D :D
