Hypothetical scenario

England only win in SA and SL so won't pick up enough away wins. Particularly as AUS and IND will generally whitewash them. I can't see a scenario by which it isn't those two sides playing each other
Indeed, it was only Covid that allowed NZ to qualify for the first Final. I wonder how many India/Aus Finals it will take before the thing gets altered/abolished?
What??
You bludgers just wait until big Kyle Jamieson gets back to business.

We still would of had the wtc trophy and the ashes in the plane home
Well my question was more, if we’d played a non-Ashes Test prior to the first, what does it do to the dynamics of the series? Completely hypothetical of course but it would be interesting to see how both sides used the WTC final in such a circumstance - we all know which trophy would mean more, of course

With reference to the hijackers going on about how it will always be Ind/Aus - can’t help but think they’re doing that stupid thing sports fans often do which is to assume that what currently is will always be

@GIMH

Reality would probably just be that England are better prepared for the first test. And yes it likely would have made a difference this series.
