Hyped Australian bowlers in Shield cricket

The next bowler to be given an opportunity could be Tremain. Hopefully he performs though.
Yeah Tremain probably deserves a opportunity in the nearish future, has been consistently dangerous at Shield level for a fair while now, even on the 16 lane highway that is the MCG pitch. Still think he is a bit hot and cold, a lot that could go wrong with that bowling action, but when in good rhythm he can produce some truly excellent deliveries

Tremain never really looked that special, like Pattinson/Cummins/Hazlewood did, but you can't argue with results

The gap between the Starc/Hazlewood/Cummins/Pattinson tier and the next tier of seam bowlers seems sizable. It doesn't really matter I suppose if you keep at least 3/4 or even 2/4 of the above fit.

I don't know. I think Bird would have been a fixture in many sides around the world. He's have been better than any bowler not named Anderson or Overton (and that's a toss up) on the last English tour to Aus. Basically any side bar SA he'd be in the starting XI.

Bird wouldn't make the Indian team now imo but when we last toured England/Aus/NZ, sure. Defs not in India.

Hard to see him get in ahead of Southee/Boult/Wags though.

I meant more in terms of Australian selection.

With England it is more a case of (first tier) aging Broad/Anderson and Stokes as the allrounder (second tier) anyone's guess really? I do not even think we're aware of who our second string are, the equivalent of your Birds, Tremains and Sayers. You'd probably include Woakes in that second category if you are restricting that argument to England but he is terrible abroad. Roland-Jones hasn't played enough, and has played nothing outside England. Wood is always knackered and struggled for consistency. Ball hasn't really impressed either. Your Currens and Overtons are newbies. The window of opportunity is basically open for your Porters and Coads.
